Northside Seventh-day Adventist Church has long been committed to serving the spiritual and practical needs of the St. Louis community. Guided by the biblical call to “do good” (Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:14), the church has intentionally expanded its ministry beyond its walls by responding to community needs through health outreach, disaster relief, education, and strategic partnerships. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Northside SDA provided assistance to families in need, an effort recognized by Christian Hospital in 2020. The church has also partnered with organizations such as the American Red Cross, Southeast Behavioral Hospital, The Red Circle, the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, and many other nonprofit and community organizations to improve the well-being of North St. Louis County residents.
Building on this foundation of collaboration, Northside has helped organize community health fairs, Education Summits, Disaster Preparedness Training, Community Resource Fairs, and participated in initiatives such as Your Best Pathway to Health, which provided free medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health services to underserved residents. These experiences have demonstrated that lasting community change requires coordinated partnerships rather than isolated services. The proposed Northside Community Partners One-Stop Shop Initiative is the next step in that mission, creating a centralized location where residents can access coordinated education, workforce development, financial capability, housing, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and supportive services through a trusted network of community partners. This collaborative model will improve access to existing resources, reduce barriers to service, and strengthen economic mobility throughout North St. Louis County.
